Online: Grow Your Own Vegetables
This is an online class held via Zoom. Please have a current email on file with us so that we may send your login information a few days prior to class.
Discover the simplicity of cultivating your own vegetables, with guidance on selecting the right location, preparing the soil, starting seeds, and choosing fertilizers. You will learn about effective garden design and layout, as well as the importance of timing in planting. The course will cover essential techniques for managing diseases, pests, and weeds, along with composting practices, optimal harvesting times, and methods to prolong the growing season.
Washington County Master Gardeners - Paul Richtman
Paul has been passionate about gardening since his youth, focusing on the cultivation of fruits and vegetables. Since 2004, he has been sharing his expertise through Community Education classes. As a certified Tree Care Advisor and Extension Master Gardener from the University of Minnesota, he specializes in growing fruits, vegetables, trees, and shrubs. Paul enjoys sharing the knowledge he has acquired from UMN research and best practices with others.
