Beyond the Bobbin - Pattern Fundamentals

If you know how to use a sewing machine but get confused by sewing patterns, this class is for you! You’ll learn how to:

• Understand the information on a pattern envelope
• Lay out and cut pattern pieces correctly
• Follow step-by-step instructions with help from your instructor

By the end of class, you’ll have a strong start on a sewing project and feel more confident using patterns.

What to bring:

• Week 1: A simple beginner sewing pattern, fabric scissors or rotary cutter and mat
• Weeks 2–3: The same pattern, fabric and notions (you’ll talk about these in Week 1), sewing machine (manual if you have it), thread, seam ripper, pins, and a measuring tape or ruler
