Exploring Pottery

This popular class fills fast and is taught by a skilled Maple Grove Senior High art teacher! You’ll learn how to use the pottery wheel and try out other fun clay techniques like slab building, coils, slip molds, sprigs, and textures.

You’ll also learn about glazes and underglazes to finish your pieces with color and shine. Be ready to get messy—wear old clothes and hard-soled shoes. Aprons and lab coats are provided. You can bring your own tools or use the ones we have.

All materials are included in the class fee.
Note: February 25 and May 12 are pick-up days only (no class on those dates).

Chad is one of our high school art teachers and a very fine potter as well. His passion for art combined with his skills in education will provide you with an excellent experience. Get ready to dig in and get a little messy as you experience the satisfaction of creating substantial and personal art pieces and unique, functional home items.
