Online: Writing for Children - A Beginner's Guide

Explore the creative world of writing for young readers. This online class introduces you to the skills needed to write stories children and teens love.

You will learn how to:
• Write for different age groups, from picture books to young adult
• Create characters young readers connect with
• Understand current trends in children’s and teen publishing
• Develop strong story ideas and structure
• Prepare and submit work to publishers and magazines

This class is a great starting point whether you want to write picture books or young adult novels. You will also learn how writing for young audiences can lead to publishing opportunities, including your own book. Informative handouts for future reference are included in the class fee. Your instructor LeeAnne Krusemark is a former journalist, author, editor, and Professor of Publishing at institutions nationwide, including Harvard Adult Education.
