Session 1: Electrical Repair Basics Learn the basics of your home’s electrical system in this hands-on class. You’ll go over different types of wires, wire sizes (called “gauges”), and how to use them safely. The instructor will show you how to: Strip wire correctly Attach wires to outlets, switches, and light fixtures Use basic testing tools Please bring straight and Phillips screwdrivers, long-nose pliers, and wire strippers if you have them. Session 2: Advanced Electrical Repair Keep building your skills in this hands-on class! You’ll learn how to safely install light switches (single-pole and 3-way), outlets, and light fixtures. You’ll even wire a light bulb and test the circuit to see how it works. We’ll talk about different types of light bulbs and how to choose the right LED bulb. You’ll also learn about installing ceiling fans and other fixtures. Please bring your own wire stripper, straight and Phillips screwdrivers, and long-nose pliers if you have them.

You’ll: Learn about different types of plastic and metal pipes Take apart and fix different kinds of faucets Replace a pop-up drain assembly Talk about how toilets work inside This class is great for beginners who want to save money and feel more comfortable doing simple plumbing jobs.

You’ll learn how to safely use power tools like drills, sanders, routers, and saws. Your instructor, Francis Kaas, is a Master Carpenter with over 30 years of experience. Week 1: Learn how to use each tool and stay safe while working. Week 2: Build a small bench to take home! What to bring: Safety goggles Tape measure Pencil Tie back long hair and don’t wear loose clothing (for safety) Class takes place in a large, heated workshop with lots of space, tools, and parking. You must have taken Power Tools I or get permission from the instructor to join. Your instructor, Fran Kaas, is a Master Carpenter with over 30 years of experience in home building and remodeling. Important Info: You’ll need to take your project home after the first night and bring it back for the second. For safety: tie back long hair and don’t wear loose clothing. Bring safety goggles, a tape measure, and a pencil. Supply fee: $70–$85 (based on lumber prices), paid to the instructor at class.
