Online: Vegetable Gardening for Beginners

This class will be taught as an interactive online webinar through Zoom using University research-based information presented by a Master Gardener. Zoom is free to use, and instructions for accessing the class, along with the Zoom link and any class materials, will be emailed prior to the class. Please ensure you have a current email address on file with us.

Interested in growing your own vegetables? This beginner-friendly class will introduce the basics of vegetable gardening and provide practical guidance for getting started. Learn how to choose a good garden location, determine the right garden size, prepare soil, select vegetables to grow, and decide whether to use seeds or transplants.

You will also learn when and how to plant, care for your garden throughout the growing season, and harvest vegetables at the right time. Using University of Minnesota research-based information and lessons learned from years of hands-on gardening experience, this class will help you build the knowledge and confidence to successfully grow and enjoy fresh vegetables at home.
