Online: Growing Blueberries in Your Backyard

This class will be taught as an interactive online webinar through Zoom using University research-based information presented by a Master Gardener. Zoom is free to use, and instructions for accessing the class, along with the Zoom link and any class materials, will be emailed prior to the class. Blueberries are a low-maintenance fruit shrub that can provide delicious harvests for many years. Blueberry plants are long-lived and generally experience few disease and insect problems, making them a great choice for home gardeners. In this class, you will learn how to successfully grow blueberries in Minnesota by understanding site selection, soil preparation, and choosing hardy varieties suited to our climate.

The class will also cover purchasing and planting blueberry bushes, as well as seasonal protection from birds, rabbits, and winter weather. Gain the knowledge and confidence needed to grow healthy blueberry plants and enjoy fresh, homegrown berries from your own yard.
