Online: Growing Backyard Fruits

This class will be taught as an interactive online webinar through Zoom using University research-based information presented by a Master Gardener. Zoom is free to use, and instructions for accessing the class, along with the Zoom link and any class materials, will be emailed prior to the class. Would you like to grow fresh fruit in your own backyard? This class will teach you how to select fruit varieties that grow well in Minnesota and how to plant, prune, and care for them to promote healthy growth and productive harvests. You will also learn strategies for managing insects and diseases to help protect your plants and improve fruit production.

The class includes detailed information on growing strawberries and raspberries, along with an introduction to blueberries, apples, cherries, plums, and honeyberries. Gain practical knowledge and confidence to successfully grow a variety of fruits at home.
